The D-Prize Global Competition is open and accepting applications!
Are you ready to launch an NGO, charity, or for-profit venture, or do you know someone who is? D-Prize wants to support bold entrepreneurs to start social ventures, and we could use your help!
D-Prize is searching for individuals who can scale a proven poverty solution and bring it to thousands, maybe even millions, of people in need. We have identified more than a dozen impactful products and services that have the potential to change lives.
Eligibility
New organizations only. Most awardees are first-time entrepreneurs who have not yet launched or raised outside funding.
- We especially encourage applicants from low- and middle-income countries.
- Orgs with more than 18 months of full-time operations or more than $30,000 USD raised typically not supported.
Existing organizations considered only if your core focus is distributing an existing, evidence-based poverty intervention.
Who Should Apply?
Here are a few qualities we think make up the ideal candidate:
- Desire to expand the delivery of an existing, proven poverty intervention. We are open to many sectors and fields, including agriculture, energy, health access, clean water, livelihoods, and public services (see our challenges for more details)
- New or just starting their work. We typically give startup grants to launch new organisations. We rarely support those older than 18 months or who have raised more than $30,000.
- Desire to do this work full-time.
- Focus on distributing a single proven intervention. We do not advance proposals from ventures planning to work on multiple interventions and use D-Prize to fund one project among many.
- We apologize, but at this time we are only able to evaluate applications submitted in English. We do not grade on language, and grammar and vocabulary errors will not be penalized.
