Overview

The Female Founders Rise (FFR) Fundraising Accelerator is an intensive, 8-week virtual program explicitly designed to help underrepresented founders navigate the complexities of raising venture capital and angel investment. Sponsored by prominent industry institutions including Barclays Eagle Labs and Shoosmiths, the program focuses on transforming operational pitches into venture-grade investment assets.

Opportunity Overview

The program moves founders from foundational business positioning to live investor exposure in exactly two months. It is data-driven, boasting an average confidence increase of 72% among graduating cohorts.

Key Benefits:

  • Direct Investor Exposure: The curriculum culminates in live pitching sessions where founders present their businesses directly to curated networks of VCs and active angel investors.

  • Asset Building: Hands-on creation and refinement of vital fundraising assets, including a venture-grade pitch deck, structured investor data rooms, and strategic outbound lists.

  • Dedicated Slack Hub & Peer Support: Ongoing access to the "Raise Slack" workspace for real-time peer reviews and investment advisory answers.

  • The "Raise Circle" Pipeline: Upon graduation, fellows transition into the Raise Circle alumni network, which provides continuous WhatsApp peer support and dedicated investor office hours.

Eligibility Criteria

The accelerator maintains strict structural rules to ensure all participants are ready to take on capital immediately.

1. Founder Identity & Geography

  • Identity: Open exclusively to female and non-binary founders. (Note: If you have a male co-founder, you can still apply as long as the primary applicant leading the fundraising process matches this profile).

  • Location: The business must be legally registered and operating within the United Kingdom.

2. Financial & Investment Readiness

  • The Timeline: You must be actively raising capital now or planning to formally launch your investment round within the next 3 months.

  • The Baseline: The startup must already be "investable" and possess a functional draft pitch deck.

  • Regulatory Tax Compliance: The business must have already secured initial funding (e.g., prior grants, bootstrapping validation) OR have formally secured SEIS/EIS Advance Assurance from HMRC.

  • Growth: The underlying business model must show demonstrable potential for high regional or international scale.

3. Commitment Parameters

  • Founders must commit to attending all mandatory weekly virtual training sessions, which run consecutively on Fridays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM UK time for 8 weeks.

The 8-Week Curriculum Breakdown

The accelerator operates sequentially across eight modular steps:

  • Week 1: Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Position (PMVP) baseline.

  • Week 2: PMVP Refinement & mapping specific Funding Types.

  • Week 3: Pitch Deck Essentials (structure and data prioritization).

  • Week 4: Building secondary Pitch Assets and organizing Data Rooms.

  • Week 5: Live Pitch Practice with experts and peer reviews.

  • Week 6: Live Pitching to Investors!

  • Week 7: Strategic Outreach (how to target, track, and hook relevant investors).

  • Week 8: Synthesis, feedback loops, and core campaign takeaways.
